Former Supreme Court judge, Justice Markandey Katju will be the new  chairman of the Press Council of India (PCI), the apex media regulator of  the country. He will succeed Justice GN Ray, whose term has come to an end. Justice Katju, who retired from the Supreme Court on September 20 and is  known for several landmark judgments, is likely to hold  the post for the next five years, government sources said.

Contacted for his response, Justice Katju said he is yet to receive a  formal communication from the government and he would comment only after  being officially informed.Justice Katju was first appointed a judge of the Allahabad high court in  1981 and served as the chief justice of Madras and Delhi high courts,  before being elevated to the Supreme Court in April 2006. Important judgments delivered by him include legalising passive euthanasia  in India and granting bail to noted social activist Dr Binayak Sen.

  1. Your blog is very informative. Eating mindfully has been very hard for people these days. It's all because of their busy schedules, work or lack of focus on themselves. As a student I must admit that I have not been eating mindfully but because of this I will start now. It could help me enjoy my food and time alone. Eating mindfully may help me be aware of healthy food and appreciating food. AI marketing
